Whether carpets, seat cushions, wall hangings, or pillows: the tufting technique can be used to create a wide variety of textile objects. It is no wonder that tufting is still the most widely used method in carpet manufacturing today. but the advent of hobby machines and the ease of handling the materials have also inspired many textile enthusiasts in recent years.
you have seen tufting on social media or watched it being done and are wondering: how does it work? is it difficult? the answer is: not at all! you do not need any prior knowledge of textiles or design to tuft. All you need is curiosity and a desire to throw your hands in wool.
Full-day workshop on Saturdays:
In our comprehensive tufting course, you will learn all the important steps to create your own textile, fluffy work of art measuring approx. 50 x 50 cm. The course includes:
- Introduction to the technique and tools of tufting
- Mounting the canvas and transferring your motif
- Tufting the motif with wool
- Gluing the back to secure it
- Shaving the front and finishing the back.
At the end of the workshop, you can take your self-tufted piece home with you.
New! Intro course on Tuesday evenings:
Not sure if you want to spend a whole day tufting? Would you like to try out the craft in one evening?
Then our new intro course is just right for you: in about three hours, you will learn the basics of tufting and go home with a small, 18 x 24 cm tufted picture. During the course, you can try your hand at a simple design in our cozy studio or choose one from our catalog of ideas. Perfect for familiarizing yourself with the craft!
Options for fall 2025:
- Saturday course: 7.5 hours, 10:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. | 290 CHF per person, including materials
- Intro course: 3 hours, 6:00–9:00 p.m. | 120 CHF per person, including materials
Discounts:
Training discount: approx. 10% discount for people in education. Please note this in the comments and have confirmation ready.
Couples discount: Come as a couple and pay 40 francs less (20 per person) for the full-day workshop or 20 francs (10 per person) less for the intro course. Register both of you and note the name of the other person in the comments (example: partner discount with robin Muster).
No idea for a motif? No problem: if necessary, we will send you inspiration for motifs in the form of an idea catalog. And otherwise, as a little suggestion:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with payment details within 48 hours. Your registration is final once payment has been received. The workshop will be taught in German and English, and in French upon request.

i look forward to welcoming you to my tufting workshop. i have been immersed in this craft for 5 years now and take great pleasure in teaching you the technique. the workshop is aimed at beginners who are older than 14 years old and have no problems holding 1.5 kg for a long time and standing most of the time.
the workshops are currently not completely barrier-free, but you are welcome to contact me with a request. i try to make the workshop possible for everyone who has a desire and joy for creative work. if you have limited financial means, you are welcome to contact me and we will see what is possible.

These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all contracts concluded between atelier uuu (hereinafter «Organizer») and the participants (hereinafter «Participants») of the Tufting Workshops.
1. Registration and Execution
1.1 Booking a workshop is considered binding only once the full course fee has been paid. Participation in the course is only possible after full payment of the course fee. The confirmation email reserves the place. If the course fee is not paid within the specified period (10 days), the reservation expires. In case of no-show without cancellation, the course fee will not be refunded.
1.2 If the minimum number of participants (4) is not reached, the Organizer may postpone the course. Participants should be informed at least 7 days before the start of the course.
1.3 If the workshop is canceled for reasons attributable to the Organizer (e.g., illness of the instructor, insufficient number of participants), a voucher for already paid courses will be issued. This voucher can be used online for re-registration. Vouchers cannot be cashed out. If the studio closes, all vouchers expire.
2. Participation Fee and Payment Terms
2.1 The participation fee is 290 CHF per workshop, with special regulations for discounts.
2.2 The participation fee must be paid within 10 days after receiving the registration confirmation.
2.3 Payment is made by bank transfer to the account specified by the Organizer or through other payment methods offered by the Organizer.
3. Cancellation and Refund
3.1 Cancellations must be made in writing (via email to workshop@atelier-uuu.com). The Organizer confirms the cancellation by email on the same or next day. If you do not receive a confirmation email, the cancellation is invalid. If you wish to reschedule, you must provide a new date and have it confirmed. Failure to provide a date renders the cancellation invalid, and the original date remains booked and payable. These rules also apply to ongoing courses that cannot be completed for any reason.
3.2 Cancellations up to 14 days before the workshop date will be fully refunded.
3.3 Cancellations less than 7 days before the workshop date will not be refunded. However, participants can nominate a replacement participant. Missed lessons cannot be rescheduled or refunded for any reason. Please note that all regulations also apply in cases of illness or other reasons.
4. Liability
4.1 The Organizer shall not be liable for injuries and health impairments of participants during workshops unless caused by gross negligence or intent of the Organizer.
4.2 Personal and material damages resulting from improper handling of tools and materials by participants are their responsibility; thus, no liability is assumed by the Organizer for such damages.
4.3 Participants are required to follow instructions from instructors and adhere to safety regulations; failure to comply may result in exclusion from workshops.
4.4 Each participant is responsible for adequate insurance and personal protection; ensuring sufficient coverage and taking necessary protective measures are participant responsibilities; therefore, liability in this regard is disclaimed by the Organizer.
5. Data Protection
5.1 The Organizer collects, processes, and uses participants' personal data solely for workshop execution and communication with participants.
5.2 Data will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent from participants; however, information such as addresses or email addresses may be stored by the Organizer to provide updates about atelier uuu later on.
6. Copyright
6.1 All materials, images, and texts provided during workshops are protected by copyright; reproduction or distribution without written permission from the Organizer is prohibited.
7. Applicable Law/Jurisdiction
7.1 Jurisdiction lies with where Organizer's headquarters are located.
7.2 Swiss law applies.
